Job summary
The Red Hat Workflow Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to help us build the tools that support the company's internal processes. In this role, you will quickly learn and achieve your tasks using modern technologies and architectures, embrace a fast-moving, agile environment, and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders to build exceptional offerings and continually adapt to meet business requirements. This is a full stack development opportunity to work on enterprise systems and engage in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Well-qualified, home-based candidates in the U.S. and Canada will be considered, though applicants in Colorado and the U.S. Mountain Region are preferred. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Contribute value to Red Hat's customers through the enhancement of customer and internal systems
Develop software that contributes to Red Hat's internal workflow platforms and offerings
Serve as part of an agile and globally distributed product development team responsible for both customer-facing and internal solutions
Design, implement, and extend both internal and external-facing software
Ensure ongoing quality of the application code bases through bug fixes, refactoring, and test automation
Collaborate with other developers across multiple teams and technologies for cross-team projects
Required skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline
4+ years of software development experience using Java, Python, JavaScript, or a similar language
Understanding of application architecture and experience in full stack application development
Outstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience in agile development and collaboration with business and quality engineering (QE) across the full SDLC
Background in supporting technical customers in the use of software systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; good written presentation skills
The following are considered a plus:
Experience with enterprise middleware platforms
Familiarity with business process management (BPM), descriptive programming, or event-driven programming
Experience with distributed systems

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
